A prestigious consortium of some of the world’s finest arts organisations sets off to change the face of classical music in Europe, by skilling Europe’s young musicians to engage with 21st century audiences.
From 2014-2015, with the support of the European Commission's Creative Europe Programme, a unique partnership of cultural commentators, sociologists, digital pioneers, music festivals, concert halls and performance specialists joined together with an aspirational, collective determinism – to create a model for sustainable employment and audience development within the classical music sector that can serve as a best-practice for other cultural areas.
The aims of T2020 still informs the work of the Orchestra in the following ways: by training 21st century musicians and developing new performance formats, the EUYO continues to perform in many exciting and unique settings, including the 'Spazio Klassik' project and many Close-Up and Pop-Up performances where the audience has the chance to sit within and around the Orchestra. These projects are a way of offering a closer and more personalised performance to the public.
